Paddy In A Pot (2005-12-19)
Pot plants are nice. You can grow all sorts of plants and flowers and even edible things. I've grown many veggies and herbs in pots, but I don't think I will ever try growing rice like the man in our neighborhood tatami shop. He has quite a healthy bunch of rice with big seeds(rice grains) on the stalks thriving in a pot.
I wonder if he'll cultivate the rice for consumption, or perhaps the plant is merely a window treatment for his shop and a signature of his work--tatami is made of rice straws.
